Impact and Results
Since its creation in 1996, the Indiantown Education Coalition has awarded more than $375,000 in scholarships to Indiantown high school students, classroom grants, and donations to the local Indiantown Schools.
In 2021, the IEC awarded $15,000 in scholarships to 8 graduates of A-Rated South Fork High School and 2 graduates of Clarke Advanced Learning Center all who were all residents of Indiantown.
Here are some of the special named scholarships awarded in 2021:
The Leroy and Thelma Waters Memorial Scholarships, Sponsored by the grandchildren of Leroy and Thelma Waters, this scholarship was awarded to two students who exemplified the character, qualities and community involvement of Leroy and Thelma Waters. This couple were long-time residents of Indiantown, great contributors to the community, and advocates of quality education.
The Ivy Menken Honorary Scholarship, Sponsored by the teachers and staff of Warfield Elementary School in honor of this former principal of the school and long-time member of the Indiantown Education Coalition
The Bill Hannah Memorial Scholarship,Sponsored by Blue Stream Fiber in honor of this advocate for education and who had a great passion for the success of the Indiantown community
The Florida Power & Light Scholarhip Sponsored by the FPL Indiantown/Martin County Plant
In 2022, the IEC will be awarding 12 students scholarships in mid-April from both South Fork High School and Clarke Advanced Learning Center. More details will be posted after the scholarship awards nights.
